I HAVE PUPPIES

I have puppies is a project that started after an uncomfortable conversation with a woman at an event. she asked the normal “do you have children question” when I answered “no, I can’t have children” she awkwardly looked away and abruptly stopped talking to me. in order to lighten the situation, I told her I have puppies, cute, sweet, lovely and the conversation had been restored to normal. I decided in that moment to create this project to discuss the difficulty women face who can’t have children, choose not to or have lost theirs’s due to all the reasons we loss children. War, famine, immigration, human trafficking, and death. I have puppies is my journey through child loss, social stigma, and isolation.

This project is on-going.
